The Cabin Journal — Chapter 6 Anomaly Catalog (Anomaly Detected)
The Cabin Journal in Anomaly Detected — how the 50-anomaly catalog works, confirmed entries, the "13621" story, and the Journal 100% badge.
The Cabin’s Journal reads out of 50 — and the Journal’s own overview exposes the full catalog for the first time: 324 anomalies across all six chapters (the captured session showed 270/324, 83%), with chapter tabs for 1–6 followed by “Coming Soon” placeholders for future chapters. It is the third badge on the map (completion, Veteran, then Journal 100%) and the one only 24 players worldwide hold as of October 5, 2026.
The Journal’s “Order by Room” view mid-catalog — 36 of 50 anomalies captured, one entry open as “Lighting Change – Lake View.” (Community gameplay capture.)
How does the Journal work?
- One catalog per chapter. Every map has a Journal tab — a checklist of that property’s distinct documented anomalies. Chapter 6’s holds 50 entries; the overview counter totals 324 across all six live chapters.
- Reports fill it. A correct report logs the anomaly into your Journal; the entry records a type–room pair plus a photo of what the camera saw. The list groups entries by room — the header’s “Order by Room” button toggles the sort.
- Progress persists. Captures carry across shifts and sessions — the Journal is a collection grind, not a single-run goal. The lobby shows your Best Percentage next to the streak counter, and the Journal’s tab row already lists “Coming Soon” slots beyond Chapter 6 — the roadmap continues.
- Undiscovered entries hide as “???”. The list pads out with locked slots, so a full Journal means finding everything, not just surviving — this is why the badge sits at two dozen holders.
Uncaptured anomalies list as “???” — the catalog fills only when you report them on-camera. (Community gameplay capture.)
What is the story in the Chapter 6 Journal?
Chapter 6’s Journal opens with something no earlier chapter’s Journal has been seen to use — narrative text:
The anonymous client reported weird changes around and inside the cabin on September 12, 2026, which they stated started happening after writing “13621” on the wall of their basement after receiving a strange letter. 10 days later, they went missing right after they called us.
The “13621” digits and the strange letter are deliberate hooks — the game’s cryptic ??? badge (N - L - M2 - S2 - E) began awarding the same week the chapter shipped. Nobody has published a verified decode yet; treat anything claiming one as unconfirmed.
Which anomalies are confirmed so far?
The full 50-entry list is still being cataloged — no public source had a complete list as of October 5. Entries verified in gameplay footage (each is a type–room pair):
| Anomaly type | Room |
|---|---|
| Missing Object | Bathroom |
| Structural Change | Bathroom |
| Lighting Change | Shed |
| Lighting Change | Lake View |
| New Object | Lake View |
Documented footage also shows captured entries under Entity Presence, Misplaced Shadow, Missing Object, New Object, Structural Change, and Lighting Change, with Kitchen, Lake View, Living Room, Porch, Shed, and Upstairs entries all visible on the scroll — the catalog clearly spans the full map, interior and exterior feeds alike.
How do I complete the Journal?
- Play for coverage, not speed. The Journal rewards breadth — re-run the chapter with different anomaly spawns rather than speed-clearing the quota.
- Use the room views. “Order by Room” shows where your gaps are; entries you have not filed show as ??? buttons.
- Learn all nine categories cold. Journal entries span every type — a wrong-category report burns a fail and does not log the entry.
- Consider the Anomaly Scanner. The $2,500 permanent scanner (or the cheaper Type Scanner) helps you confirm whether a feed hides something new before spending a report.
Journal 100% is the rarest achievement on every map — The Residence’s badge sits at ~316 holders after three months, and The Cabin’s is tracking the same curve. Expect this page’s entry table to grow as the community documents more of the 50.
